Courbevoie

The Courbevoie project is a set of buildings erected on the slab covering the SNCB car park in Louvain-la-Neuve. In order to meet UCL's request, the entire project was divided by the client between several project teams made up of several architects and design offices.
Montois Architects thus had the honor of carrying out the first phase of the project including two buildings at the entrance to the site coming from the center of Louvain-la-Neuve.

The project includes two buildings with different programs:

Lot 702: Esprit Flore - The “almost” passive
The building, of imposed shape, is complex due to its authorized perimeter, its low height and its dimensions.
Most of the apartments it offers are passive standard, the others are low energy.

It includes a wide mix of accommodation (13 units) ranging from studios to 3-bedroom apartments.

Lot 703: Esprit Sud - The student
The building is made up of 5 sub-buildings with different specificities in terms of volume.
The whole is made up of two solar “towers” ??of the prescribed size.
It brings together 92 accommodations ranging from studios to 5-bedroom community housing for a total of 171 beds.

All of the buildings are part of a thorough environmental approach with the implementation of active systems to reduce the environmental impact of buildings.

Each unit is equipped with a double flow ventilation system, each building is provided with an intake energy provided by thermal and photovoltaic solar panels but is also equipped with large bicycle rooms and rainwater recovery tanks.
