Yaounde Referral Hospital

The 302-bed Yaounde Referral Hospital was built by SBBM & Six Construct on a turnkey basis, including programming design, construction, finishing, equipment and subcontracting. The hospital is comprised of several pavilion-blocks laid out at right angles to the horizontal, covered and directly ventilated with circulation galleries. The main entrance is centrally located and separates the daily consultations on the left from the emergencies on the right. The block which houses the major medical equipment is located to the rear, with the logistic section on the lower level. The hospitalisation wings are located on the perimeter of the differents levels. This design concept allows for possible future extension in what has been called a herringbone pattern. .
